May 26, 2015Bercow Radell & Fernandez Wins Approval for Santa Barbara Hotel
The owner of the Santa Barbara Hotel at 230 20th Street wants to significantly expand its property.
Built on the 10,625-square-foot site in 1947, the hotel currently has 15 rooms in 11,266 square feet.
Santa Barbara 230 LLC, a Fort Lauderdale company managed by James D. Vosotas, wants to grow it to 49 rooms in 21,250 square feet, plus a 56-seat restaurant and private rooftop terraces.
The plan calls for the renovation and partial demolition of the existing two-story hotel and the construction of a five-story addition. The design was crafted by Shulman + Associates.
The owner acquired the hotel for $7 million in early 2014. — Brian Bandell
