Gaia, a globally renowned Greek-Mediterranean dining destination from Dubai, is set to debut its first U.S. location in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth community come summer 2025.
Conceptualized by British-Nigerian Chef Izu Ani and hospitality entrepreneur Evgeny Kuzin, the restaurant is a flagship of Fundamental Hospitality, with existing locations in Dubai, London, Qatar, Monte-Carlo and Marbella.
The upscale eatery, which is named after the Greek goddess of the earth, will open on the ground floor of the Marea Condominium, 801 S. Pointe Drive.
Fundamental Hospitality filed plans for Gaia in February 2023. The restaurant will span 9,534 square feet and seat approximately 242 patrons across a main dining room, bar, outdoor dining area and VIP lounge.
Miami-based Beilenson Gomez Architects PA was listed as the designer for the project.
Gaia is known for its lively ambiance that has attracted the rich and famous, including Naomi Campbell, Idris Elba and Roger Federer.
The restaurant’s menu centers around fresh, shareable dishes. Highlights include baked feta cheese, Greek-style meatballs and a signature Ice Market featuring seafood sourced from Europe.
Landlord RJR Realty LLC, an affiliate of Los Angeles-based Black Lion Investment Group, is leasing the space to Gaia.
The Business Journal reached out to Fundamental Hospitality for comment.
Alexey Polyakov, head of business development of Metric Investment Group in Dubai, represented Fundamental Hospitality in the application.
Fundamental Hospitality said the Miami Beach opening will be followed by a U.S. expansion.
