Chambers USA Gives Firm Highest Rank

CHAMBERS USA ONCE AGAIN AWARDS BERCOW RADELL FERNANDEZ & LARKIN TOP RANKING IN ZONING/LAND USE LAW IN FLORIDA

 Managing Partner Jeffrey Bercow Also Recognized on Individual Level

(MIAMI) June 9, 2017 – Chambers USA, one of the oldest and most prestigious legal guides in the world, has ranked Bercow Radell Fernandez & Larkin in Band 1 in the area of Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use Law – Florida, the highest recognition given by Chambers. Only five other firms in Florida placed at the top in this specialty area in the 2017 Chambers USA Directory.

Jeffrey Bercow, co-founder and managing partner of the firm, was also recognized in the highest category for zoning and land use law.

This is the fifth consecutive year both Bercow and the firm have been recognized at the top of their specialty in zoning and land use law in Florida for the fifth consecutive year.

Chambers USA annually ranks U.S. law firms and individual attorneys based on in-depth telephone interviews with law firm clients and other attorneys. For more than 20 years Chamber has published independent and objective research-based directories of the legal profession. Inclusion in the guide is based solely on the research team’s findings.

— Aligned Bayshore Marina, LLC, which the firm is assisting in the extension of the lessee’s interest under a long term ground lease with the City of Miami for a marina and uplands property located in Coconut Grove.

— CG Miami River, LLC, which the firm represented in the due diligence, acquisition, stakeholder outreach, land use, zoning and permitting of the Miami River Special Area Plan, a 10-acre mixed use development on the Miami River in the urban core of the City of Miami.

— Represented real estate developer and property owner Turnberry Associates, in obtaining several approvals of pending development projects, including the approval of a new expansion of the “Turnberry Isle Miami” Hotel, formally known as the Turnberry Isle Resort and Country Club, which needed multiple rezonings of the hotel and golf course properties, a code amendment to expand lot coverage for the parcel, site plan approval and a conditional use permit for the increased height of the hotel structure.

— Represented KR Miami Fund I, LLC in the due diligence, land use, zoning and permitting of a 20-acre parcel of land that serves as ground zero for a public private partnership with the City of Hialeah, known as the Market Station Transit Oriented Development (TOD) District.  The firm collaborated with the City of Hialeah to craft a land use, zoning, and regulating plan that will incentivize private property owners to create the City’s vision of a vibrant and sustainable multi-generational, mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly district that melds into the existing neighborhood by embracing the City’s unique historical, cultural and geographical elements.

— Continued to represent Leon Medical Centers, Inc. in land use, zoning, permitting and construction matters throughout Miami-Dade County, including the due diligence, acquisition, land use, zoning, site plan, subdivision exemption, right-of-way dedications necessary to develop a new state of the art medical campus in South Miami-Dade County.

— Obtained approvals for Integra Investments, LLC for ParkSquare Aventura, a mixed-use development on a 7.5 acre site in Aventura. The project, currently under construction, will have approximately 650,000 square feet of floor area, with hotel, residential condominium, office, medical office, specialty retail, quality restaurant and assisted living facility components when complete.
