Associate
Mitchell Tozian is an Associate at Bercow Radell Fernandez Larkin & Tapanes focusing on land use, zoning, and environmental matters.
Mitchell’s interest in environmental law developed while earning his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Florida, where he became deeply engaged in questions surrounding how communities interact with and shape the natural environment. His studies at Florida State University College of Law further refined these interests, directing his focus to the role that zoning, land use, and environmental regulations play in guiding patterns of development within both the natural and built environment. Mitchell enjoys navigating complex regulatory frameworks and helping clients understand how those frameworks influence responsible community growth.
Mitchell earned his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, graduating magna cum laude, and received book awards in Environmental Law, Legal Writing and Research II, and Constitutional Law I. During law school, he participated in the International Human Rights Advocacy Clinic, where he worked with human rights organizations and affiliated groups around the world.
In addition to his academic work, Mitchell studied Spanish and Russian as an undergraduate. During law school, he gained practical experience as a law clerk at Ausley McMullen, one of Tallahassee’s oldest law firms, where he worked across a broad range of practice areas and developed a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and analysis.
