Biography

Zakary “Zak” Benjelloun is an associate at Bercow Radell Fernandez Larkin & Tapanes, where he focuses his practice on land use, zoning, environmental, and real estate development matters. He assists clients with legal research, drafting transactional documents, and navigating the regulatory processes that support development projects throughout South Florida.

Zakary’s interest in law began while studying business at Florida State University, where business law courses inspired him to pursue a legal career. During law school, a real estate transactions course sparked his interest in real estate and environmental law, ultimately leading him to earn an LL.M. in Real Property Development. Through advanced coursework in planning and zoning, environmental law, and real estate development, he developed a passion for helping shape the communities he has called home throughout his life.

Zakary earned his Juris Doctor and LL.M. in Real Property Development from the University of Miami School of Law after graduating magna cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management/Insurance and Business Management. While in law school, he served on the editorial board of the University of Miami Business Law Review as Symposium & Events Editor and was recognized with the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement Award in Professional Responsibility. Prior to joining the firm, Zakary gained experience in probate and estate planning, further strengthening his transactional and client service skills.

Committed to serving both the legal profession and the community, Zakary volunteers with Legal Services of Greater Miami. He is also a former member of the University of Miami First-Generation Law Association and has been recognized for his academic achievements through membership in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Zakary is admitted to practice law in Florida.
