Homestead-Miami Speedway
Bercow Radell Fernandez Larkin + Tapanes successfully represented Homestead-Miami Speedway, LLC, a wholly owned affiliate of International Speedway Corporation, in its quest to add 12,000 new seats and 120 acres of land, and to implement a new master plan that would a “Champion’s Park” and Chalet Village. The goal was intended to enhance the experience for fans attending Speedway events.
This process entailed filing concurrent applications to amend the City of Homestead Comprehensive Plan, the Villages of Homestead Development of Regional Impact Development Order, and an application to expand the County’s Urban Development Boundary, as well as to amend the text of the County’s Comprehensive Development Master Plan.
The work involved significant representation before local, regional and state agencies, as well as the drafting, negotiation and approval of a tri-party, right-of-way agreement to relocate a major section line road to accommodate the project.
