Paul B. Hernandez brings nearly two decades of experience working in and around local government, offering clients a unique perspective on navigating regulatory processes and securing development approvals. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida International University and his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law.
Paul began his career as a Commission Aide for two Miami-Dade County Commissioners, where he developed a strong foundation in governmental operations and community engagement. As an attorney, he has represented clients in zoning and land use matters throughout Miami-Dade County, preparing and filing rezoning applications, variances, and Comprehensive Development Master Plan amendments. He also served at a private law firm acting as City Attorney’s Office counsel for municipalities in Broward County, where he advised elected officials and administrative staff, drafted ordinances and resolutions, reviewed municipal contracts, and served as board attorney to planning and zoning boards.
In addition to his legal experience, Paul served as a Councilman for the City of Hialeah from 2011 to 2021, representing more than 235,000 residents. During his tenure, Paul supported the expansion of Transit Oriented Development Districts and also sponsored and co-founded the Artist Live/Work Overlay District, now known as the “Leah Arts District,” contributing to the city’s cultural and economic development. He also previously served as a Commissioner for the Hialeah Housing Authority where he advocated for providing Section 8 Housing Applications online, creating greater access to affordable housing.
The addition of Paul reflects the firm’s continued investment in building a strong, experienced team and enhancing its ability to guide clients through complex land use and governmental processes throughout South Florida.
