CLIENT NEWS: Miami River Developer Obtains Utilities For 1,843 Apartments, 130K Square Feet Retail

The developer of the proposed Miami River complex completed a deal to connect the project to Miami-Dade’s water and sewer utilities system.

The deal was completed on June 30.

According to the agreement, the Miami River project will include:

  • 1,843 apartments
  • 54,200 square feet of full service restaurant
  • 40,000 square feet of office
  • 130,600 square feet of retail
  • 17 marina slips

Meyer Chetrit signed the agreement on behalf of developer CG Miami River LLC.

The developer will pay a connection charge estimated to be $2,114,223.36. In addition, there will be a Brickell Basin II sewer connection charge of $1,179,608.60, bringing the total charges to over $3.3 million.

The project has been moving quickly since obtaining pre-construction financing earlier this year from Michael Dell’s MSD Partners.

The developer also applied last month for FAA approval to build the first tower at the complex at a height of 640 feet above ground.

A construction permit for the first tower with 54 stories and 632 residential units was submitted in late June.
