CLIENT NEWS: Miami’s Westernmost 600-Foot Tower Gets FAA Approval, With Construction Now Underway
October 15, 2021A 54-story tower on the Miami River has been granted height approval from the Federal Aviation Administration.
The tower will be permitted to rise 640 feet above ground, or 645 feet above sea level, according to the approval notice. At that height, it will become the westernmost 600-foot tower ever built in Miami.
The approval was issued today (October 14) after four months of review.
Two tower cranes were also approved to rise 760 feet above ground, or 765 feet above sea level.
Construction is already underway, according to contractor G.T. McDonald.
The first tower will have 532 residential units.
A second tower will also eventually be built at the same height, part of five phases planned.
When all phases are completed, the project will have:
- 1,678 residential units
- 330 hotel rooms
- 196,882-square-feet of retail space
- 98,040-square-feet of office space
- 30-slip marina
The project is being financed by Michael Dell’s MSD Partners, according to a Notice of Commencement filing.
