Westview Business Park

A popular Miami golf course gets a makeover and demonstrates the ability to change land uses for the good of the community.

Westview Business Park

During the past several years, Bercow Radell Fernandez Larkin + Tapanes represented Rosal Westview, LLC, an affiliate of Landmark Companies, in its efforts to redevelop the abandoned, 200-acre Westview Golf Course.

Although the parent company is engaged in the business of affordable multi-family housing development, Rosal Westview, LLC has proposed an ambitious redevelopment of the abandoned golf course property, with 400,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, office and other service uses, as well as 1.6 million square feet of warehouse/distribution uses, light assembly, research and development, hotel, and additional office uses.

The Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approved an amendment of the County’s Comprehensive Development Master Plan to allow for these proposed uses. We served as co-counsel in the appellate litigation before the State of Florida Division of Administrative Hearings, which was successful, and then obtained approvals for rezoning of the southern half of the property, which includes an 800,000 s.f. logistics center being developed by an affiliate of Panattoni Development Company.

The owner is currently reconsidering the development plan for the northern half of the property.  We will be involved in the efforts to obtain entitlements for this portion of the property.
