A historic building in Miami Beach’s Collins Waterfront Historic District could be converted from a condominium into a hotel after significant renovations. A six-story self-storage facility has been proposed in Doral as the first of a two-phase project. The city received an application in December from Doral Center LLC, managed by Robert S. Lechter and J. Brett Houston of Resource Real Estate Group, to build a 110,165-square-foot self-storage facility. A Holiday Inn Express Hotel has been proposed at the Miami International Mall in Doral. On Jan. 17, the city council will consider an application for a five-story hotel at 1691 N.W. 107th Ave. The 45,149-square-foot triangle-shaped site currently has a 19,626-square-foot office building from 1986.
