Developer Michael Swerdlow wants to develop 5,730 multifamily units with some affordable and workforce apartments, replacing five public housing complexes across Miami. Coconut Grove-based Swerdlow Group’s project also will include 370,000 square feet of commercial space such as offices and a school; 250,000 square feet of open space and amenities and a new Tri-Rail passenger train station, according to Miami-Dade records. A six-story self-storage facility has been proposed in Doral as the first of a two-phase project. The city received an application in December from Doral Center LLC, managed by Robert S. Lechter and J. Brett Houston of Resource Real Estate Group, to build a 110,165-square-foot self-storage facility. Holiday Inn proposed near Miami International Mall

A Holiday Inn Express Hotel has been proposed at the Miami International Mall in Doral. On Jan. 17, the city council will consider an application for a five-story hotel at 1691 N.W. 107th Ave. The 45,149-square-foot triangle-shaped site currently has a 19,626-square-foot office building from 1986.
